PRA purchases utility bad debt accounts, a practice that has been proven to help utilities improve their liquidity positions and attain their credit and collection departmental goals.

Many utility companies now regularly sell bad debt accounts to improve their returns and reduce the uncertainty associated with such accounts.  When we purchase a bad debt portfolio, we assume ownership of the accounts and provide utilities with our purchase price upon deal closing.  By selling bad debt, utilities also free themselves from the support costs normally dedicated to managing these accounts, enabling them to use their resources for more productive purposes.
